Colorful Spring Lincoln Park Engagement | Marcella & Alex

Engagements

Chicago has been pretty slow getting on board with the seasons this year, but WOW did this session scream spring! We had a looming threat of rain the entire session, but the colors more than made up for it. Lincoln Park was in full spring green mode, and Marcella and Alex’s bold, cheerful colored outfits popped perfectly against it.

This sweet California couple is getting married this summer at the University of Chicago with Blue Fancy Events and were in town doing wedding prep, which meant it was a perfect opportunity to capture their engagement. I had an absolute blast with them and I don’t think I remember a moment where they weren’t smiling and laughing together! You could instantly see the wonderful connection they have as a couple!

Lincoln Park is such a versatile location, with gorgeous views of the city mixed with beautiful touches of nature.  It has everything from lush green trees, to rustic tall grass, to a pond complete with a boardwalk. On top of that, it has nearby covered structures, making it one of my favorite rainy day go-to’s. And, bonus, when it’s rainy, you more or less get the whole park to yourself! 🙂

Marcella and Alex picked perfect outfits for this location. I always encourage guys to embrace layers, and Alex did that perfectly by layering a sweater with a button down and tie. Marcella chose a perfect blend of structure and flow with her dress. The fitted top was super flattering, and the flowy skirt added lovely movement to the photos.

Marcella and Alex it was such a pleasure capturing this special time in your lives! Can’t wait to see you again in August! Enjoy these sneak peeks 🙂
